In 2018 a group of filmmakers who call themselves “Los Quietos” (“The Still Ones”) set out to make a film essay about a hypothetical stillness syndrome in the Republic of Colombia. To do so, they invite the master of Colombian documentary Luis Ospina, presidential candidate Gustavo Petro and writer Juan Gabriel Vásquez to give them clues with which to delve into the history, geography and idiosyncrasy of Colombia — a country that, paradoxically, is anything but still. For unknown reasons the project remains unfinished.
Fifty years later, a researcher recovers the raw footage of that project and edits it into a public presentation, unveiling that hypothetical Colombian stillness syndrome at a major film festival.
